Job summary

YMCA of Catawba Valley is seeking a Zumba Class Instructor to teach classes following YMCA standards under the supervision of the Membership/Wellness Director. You will serve current and prospective members with energy, ensuring safety and engaging participants.

Responsibilities include creating routines, maintaining equipment, attending meetings, recording attendance, and promoting programs and events while upholding YMCA culture and values.

Qualifications

• YMCA Instructor certification or other nationally recognized aerobic/fitness certification.
• Current CPR, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certifications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage staff and members.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare class routines meeting safety guidelines and exercise physiology standards.
• Attend staff meetings and complete required training; keep certifications current and documented.
• Record class attendance in Group Ex Pro after each class and arrange substitutes when needed.
• Start and end classes on time; ensure a safe, smooth transition between activities.
• Enforce all class guidelines; report non-compliance to the Membership/Wellness Director.
