Job summary

Rocketdyne in Mason, Ohio seeks a dynamic VHDL Manager to lead the VHDL Engineering Team. This role focuses on guiding 8–12 engineers across space avionics, supporting new business pursuits, IR&D, and production programs.

The successful candidate will balance strategic planning with hands-on technical leadership, coach direct reports, and collaborate with other VHDL managers to build a world-class, repeatable engineering discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 12+ years of related experience; graduate degree with 10+ years preferred; in lieu of degree, 16 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Allocate ~25% of time to management and ~75% to technical work weekly.
• Administer VHDL Engineering Team staffing, training, engagement and retention.
• Plan resource allocation for programs, pursuits, and IR&D activities; review technical proposals and BOEs.
• Mentor engineers in analysis, design, build, integration, test, validation, verification, and documentation.
