Summary:

Operates valve guide/seat machining centers and performs visual and dimensional inspections during machining processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the production of quality products.
2. Participate in training to maintain quality standards and use preventative measures to meet customer requirements and Tenneco standards.
3. Comply with legal and safety requirements to prevent injuries and health issues.
4. Create a safe working environment by recognizing emergency situations and reporting incidents.
5. Follow quality, environmental, health, and safety policies.
6. Read routers and production schedules for specifications and record inspection data.
7. Monitor product specifications using various inspection equipment.
8. Verify equipment settings and controls conform to standards.
9. Operate and monitor machining centers, including loading and unloading parts.
10. Manage coolant and oil levels, dispose of filters properly.
11. Perform data entry related to production and maintenance.
12. Use SPC software to analyze product conformity and monitor scrap and nonconforming parts.
13. Follow safety rules and perform general cleaning and troubleshooting.
14. Work overtime as required and perform other duties as assigned.
15. Complete training assessments before advancing to the next level in machining.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum one year of related experience or training. Ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents. Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting and standing for extended periods. Work environment includes exposure to extreme heat, moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles. Safety equipment such as glasses and steel-toe shoes are required.
