Job summary

Activision Blizzard invites students to join the 2027 Summer Internship as a VFX Intern, contributing to real-time effects that heighten gameplay. You will collaborate with experienced artists and engineers to design dynamic, cinematic effects for next-gen platforms.

This in-person internship offers a living stipend, relocation assistance, and a meaningful project experience that directly impacts the Call of Duty team in a AAA production environment.

Qualifications

• Experience creating real-time VFX simulations using Maya, 3ds Max, or in-game FX editors.
• Familiarity with Unreal, Unity, or proprietary game engines.
• Strong understanding of particle systems, shaders, dynamics, and 3D fundamentals.
• Experience with Houdini or Photoshop are a plus.
• A portfolio/reel that showcases real-time, photoreal visual effects is required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to real-time VFX for Call of Duty visuals.
• Collaborate with artists and engineers to design cinematic, optimized effects.
• Balance artistry with performance across next-gen platforms.
• Work on AAA production pipelines and scripting multi-state FX objects.
