Back Cove Animal Hospital in Portland, Maine is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our welcoming and collaborative team. You’ll support veterinarians in appointments and treatments while helping care for hospitalized patients.

With 2+ years of veterinary hospital experience, you’ll thrive in a busy hospital that values technician utilization, strong client communication, and efficient daily flow. Four 10-hour shifts and a competitive hourly range are offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a veterinary hospital.
• CVT, LVT or RVT credential is a plus, but not required.
• Comfortable working in a busy hospital and supporting veterinarians.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians during appointments and treatments.
• Prepare patients and treatment areas.
• Restrain patients as needed and monitor anesthesia.
• Care for hospitalized patients and assist with procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist with dental procedures.
• Support patient discharges and educate clients.
• Perform in-house laboratory work and maintain records.
• Help maintain efficient daily hospital flow and teamwork.
