Job summary

Thrive South Lamar in Austin, TX is seeking a Veterinary Technician to support appointments, diagnostics, and procedures across outpatient care, lab work, client education, and surgical support.

We value 1+ year of veterinary technician experience, with required surgical/anesthesia/dental skills, and strong teamwork. The role includes a 4-day, 10-hour shift with alternating Saturdays and a $1000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of veterinary technician experience.
• Surgical, anesthesia, and dental experience is required.
• Strong patient handling, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care and patient advocacy during appointments, treatments, and procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms, room patients, obtain histories, and assist with doctor appointments and procedures.
• Collect and process samples; run and document diagnostics to support timely care.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed; support pharmacy workflows and client instruction.
• Assist with anesthesia, surgery, and dentistry. Including prep, monitoring, and recovery support.
• Educate clients on individualized care plans, preventive care, Thrive Membership options, medications, and recommended treatments.
• Maintain accurate, thorough medical records and communicate clearly with the team to support smooth patient flow.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection-control protocols; keep treatment areas, exam rooms, labs, and surgical spaces clean, stocked, organized, and sterile.
• Support team members and contribute to a collaborative hospital culture.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support hospital operations and patient care.
