Job summary

Thrive Cedar Park is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician at our Cedar Park, TX location. You will support wellness and sick visits, diagnostic testing, surgery, anesthesia monitoring, patient recovery, and client education in a collaborative general practice.

Requirements include 1–2 years of hands-on veterinary clinical experience, Texas LVT or national credential preferred, and proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and safe restraint.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years hands-on veterinary clinical experience required
• Texas LVT or nationally recognized credential preferred
• Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, diagnostic sample collection, safe restraint, surgical preparation, and anesthesia monitoring

Responsibilities

• Support wellness and sick appointments, as well as surgery; educate clients on vaccines, parasite prevention, nutrition, and post-operative care.
• Support efficient patient flow by noting medical histories, recording vital signs, and using low-stress handling.
• Assist with procedures and surgery including sterile technique, IV catheter placement, anesthesia induction and recovery, and intubation support.
• Communicate with clients to explain concerns, review treatment plans, and discuss Thrive Membership options.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Collect, prepare, and process samples (venipuncture, urine, fecal, cytology).
• Follow hospital protocols and keep areas clean and organized.
• Perform additional duties to support hospital and patient care.
