Manchester Veterinary Services in Maryland seeks a Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians and the medical team in delivering high-quality care. You will assist in anesthesia, diagnostics, surgery, and client education, helping maintain patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include nursing hospitalized patients, performing lab work, operating radiology equipment, and ensuring accurate medical records and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of experience as a Veterinary Technician.
• Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, laboratory procedures, radiology, and dentistry.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to use practice management software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; professional demeanor under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including IV catheter placement and monitoring.
• Assist during examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries with proper restraint and monitoring.
• Perform lab diagnostics (urinalysis, hematology, fecals, cytology) and document results.
• Operate radiology and ultrasound systems in compliance with safety standards.
• Administer medications and vaccines per hospital protocol; maintain DEA/OSHA compliance.
• Maintain daily controlled drug logs and proper storage of substances.
• Create and update treatment plans in the medical record system.
• Support hospital operations with accurate charting, charge entry, and record-keeping.
• Provide client education on preventative care, medications, and nutrition.
• Keep treatment and surgical areas clean, sterile, and well-stocked.
