Veterinary Surgical Centers in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician specializing in anesthesia and surgery. Join a team of specialists with a four-day work week and a Monday-Thursday schedule.

This on-site role offers no nights or weekends and no on-call. You’ll work with board-certified surgeons on orthopedic, soft tissue, and advanced imaging cases, delivering compassionate nursing care and a meaningful impact for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Maryland Licensed Veterinary Technician credential.
• Associate degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program.
• Minimum 5 years of veterinary experience.
• Specialty, surgery, anesthesia, or advanced nursing experience strongly preferred.
• CT and MRI experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced specialty environment.
• Passion for providing exceptional patient care.
• Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist board-certified surgeons during procedures and patient care.
• Monitor anesthesia using advanced multi-parameter equipment.
• Perform laboratory procedures and prepare outside laboratory samples.
• Obtain patient histories, weights, and vital signs.
• Provide exceptional nursing care for hospitalized patients.
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, recoveries, and discharges.
• Support CT and MRI procedures.
• Deliver compassionate, professional client communication.
• Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and inventory.
