Job summary

VCA Capital Area Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Animal Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic veterinary technician to join our Surgery care team full time. CVTs & experienced Veterinary Assistants welcome to apply.

We have an anesthesiologist on staff to guide our protocols and cultivate an environment that promotes growth and development. At VCA we strongly believe in training and development for all employees.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician or credentialed CVT preferred.
• Experience in anesthesia monitoring and surgical support a plus.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced emergency/specialty setting.

Responsibilities

• Anesthesia monitoring, procedural and surgical support.
• CT imaging when needed.
• Collecting patient histories and thorough physical exams.
• Venipuncture / IV catheter placement.
• Collaborate with hospital team to provide compassionate care.

Surgery Veterinary Technician Duties:

• Anesthesia monitoring, procedural and surgical
• Full Technician Skill Utilization
• Computed Tomography Scans (CT)
• Collecting patient histories & thorough physical exams
• Venipuncture / IVC placement
• Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)
• Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services
• Providing compassionate care for all patients

Potential Schedule:

Full-time

Compensation:

$20 - $33 / hour dependent on experience, skill set, and licensure status.
