BluePearl is hiring a Veterinary Technician Supervisor for our Specialty departments at our Lakewood, WA hospital!

  • Must be able to work weekends and dayshift with a possible occasional swing shift as determined.

Veterinary Technician Supervisor Pay: $30.22 - $47.30 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

  • Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

For Example:

  • Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential
  • Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential
  • Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential
Veterinary Technician Supervisor Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates advanced proficiency within their appropriate department and maintains all related skills and knowledge.
  • Technician supervisor will have 75% of time spent on the floor.
  • Creates effective working relationships with hospital leadership to facilitate communication of ideas, policies, standards, and performance.
  • Coaches supervised group for strong performance and productivity in the delivery of medical services to patients.
  • Serves as a mentor to lower-level staff by demonstrating positive work habits, effective clinical skills, and business knowledge.
  • Facilitates ongoing communication and feedback.
  • Implements process improvement initiatives that remove barriers to excellent service.
  • Coaches team members to be continuously aware and proactive at anticipating and addressing patient and client needs and to seek assistance with escalated, stressful situations.
  • Works with hospital leadership to organize Veterinary Technician and Assistant meetings.
  • Works with the Trainer Coordinator to organize training schedules for team members.
  • Identifies conflicts in the workplace and seeks assistance in resolution to create effective working relationships.
  • Provides feedback related to team performance to hospital leadership and works with them to develop performance improvement plans.
  • Works with hospital leadership to create schedules for Veterinary Technicians and Assistants.
  • Assists hospital leadership in recruiting.
  • Performs annual review of team members.
