Job summary

Governors Avenue Animal Hospital in Dover, DE is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician Supervisor to lead our technician and support teams. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership to ensure exceptional patient care and smooth hospital operations.

You will oversee training, onboarding, performance coaching, and accountability standards while partnering with hospital leadership to create efficient processes and a positive, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of veterinary technician experience.
• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred.
• Experience in leadership or supervisory roles is highly preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily leadership, mentorship, coaching, and support to veterinary technicians and support staff.
• Lead onboarding and training for new staff with a structured curriculum.
• Develop and maintain SOPs; standardize workflows and patient-care processes.
• Coordinate staffing and workflow to ensure optimal patient care and hospital operations.
• Partner with hospital leadership on performance management and development plans.
• Foster a positive, collaborative culture and continuous improvement.
