Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician Supervisor for Irondequoit Animal Hospital in Irondequoit, NY. This full-time role requires 30–40 hours weekly, including day/evening/weekend/holiday shifts with one weekend shift required.

The ideal candidate will supervise a team of technicians, assist veterinarians during procedures, and maintain accurate medical records while ensuring high-quality care and patient flow.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a veterinary technician required.
• Minimum 2+ years of clinical experience.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from AVMA-accredited program preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform related physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality care and positive patient flow.
• Train, coach and supervise a team of technicians and assistants.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures as permitted by state veterinary practice acts.
• Monitor patient status and collect blood and other samples for testing.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records and client communications.
