As an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician, you will:

1. Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia protocols, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual needs.
2. Monitor anesthesia, troubleshoot complications, and intervene appropriately.
3. Perform intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and maintain anesthetic equipment.
4. Conduct physical exams and monitor vital parameters, alerting the doctor to abnormalities.
5. Set up intravenous fluids and CRI’s.
6. Expand your knowledge with advanced skills such as epidurals, difficult airway management, and critical case handling.
7. Operate and troubleshoot all brands of intravenous fluid pumps.
8. Handle medical math confidently.
9. Manage entire patient procedures from pre-op to recovery.
10. Manage appointments, record keeping, invoicing, and patient discharges.
11. Connect and disconnect patients from intravenous fluids aseptically.
12. Monitor patient response to therapies, including signs of overload.
