Eastown Animal Hospital in Des Moines, IA is seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our long‑standing small animal practice. This full‑time role features a 4‑day work week, competitive pay, and a commitment to high‑quality patient care and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Veterinary Technician credential or eligibility for credentialing as required in Iowa.
• Strong veterinary nursing and animal-handling skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative veterinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to patients.
• Assist with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Perform technical nursing duties appropriate to your training and credentials.
• Safely handle and restrain patients while prioritizing comfort and well-being.
• Collect and prepare diagnostic samples for laboratory testing.
• Administer medications and treatments under veterinarian direction.
• Assist with surgical preparation, anesthesia, patient monitoring, and recovery.
• Support dental procedures and preventive-care services.
• Educate clients about treatments, medications, preventive care, and at-home instructions.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient medical records.
• Communicate effectively with veterinarians and fellow team members.
• Help maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment areas.

Position Details Role: Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Status: Full-time Salary: Competitive and based on experience Schedule: 4 day work week (7:30am-5pm 3 days a week, 7:30-6pm on Thursdays) rotating Saturdays (7:30am - 12pm)
