BluePearl Pet Hospital in Saint Cloud, MN is looking for a Relief Veterinary Technician to join our team!

Position: Veterinary Technician (CVT preferred, but not required.)

Work Schedule: Relief

Pay Range APCA I/VTIII: $21.00 - $39.75/hour

*This pay band depends on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

• Weekday Night (Mon-Fri 6p to 8a): $3.50
• Weekend Day (Sat-Sun 8a to 6p): $3.50
• Weekend Night (Sat-Sun 6p to 8a): $5.00

As a Relief Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper techniques, including correct patient positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarian to any changes or issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) accurately and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels proficiently.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train other team members.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
