BluePearl Pet Hospital in Downtown Seattle, WA is seeking a Relief Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Department!

LVT Pay: $25.60 - $49.15 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through the CareerTrax leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends.

*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential

At BluePearl Pet Hospital, the role of Veterinary Technician is an exciting, fast-paced opportunity that allows you to utilize and expand your skills while working alongside talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triages emergency cases upon arrival, obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of vital signs including heart and respiratory rates, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarian to any changes.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math, including infusions, and administer medications appropriately.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train other team members.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
