Job summary

Wickford Veterinary Clinic in North Kingstown, RI is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician with 1–3 years of experience to support surgeries, anesthesia, and patient care. The role includes patient scheduling, lab work, and client communication in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years Veterinary Technician experience.
• Associates in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
• RVT certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of anesthesia and monitoring is required.
• Knowledge of scheduling patients, receiving, treating, ordering lab tests.
• Knowledge of veterinary instruments, sterilization procedures.
• Knowledge of client service and satisfaction expectations.
• English language proficiency and clear communication.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in general practice duties including surgery and anesthesia.
• Monitor anesthesia and monitor patient during procedures.
• Schedule patients, receive, treat, and order laboratory tests as needed.
• Handle veterinary instruments and ensure sterilization.
• Provide table-side assistance and support for clinicians.
• Assist and advise clients to deliver high-quality care.

About You:

We strongly believe that veterinary medicine is a team sport, and our preferred candidate is someone who feels the same. The ideal candidate for this role is comfortable with all aspects of general practice, including surgery, anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring, drug calculations and protocols, dentistry, and surgery. Compensation:
$20.00-$22.50 an hour depending on experience and education.

Anticipated Schedule:
This is a Full-Time position
Monday – 8:30am-6pm
Wednesday – 8:30am-6pm
Thursday – 8:30am-6pm
Friday – 8:30am-5pm
Rotating Saturday – 8:30am-12pm

Requirements

• 1-3 years Veterinary Technician experience.
• Associates in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
• RVT is a plus.
• Knowledge of Anesthesia and monitoring.
• Knowledge of the procedures used for scheduling patients, receiving, treating, ordering medical supplies, and requesting laboratory tests.
• Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques to sterilize various instruments and materials.
• Knowledge of the instruments, materials, and standardized procedures used in the full variety of treatments to prepare and provide “tableside” assistance.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services. This includes client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
• Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
