BluePearl Pet Hospital in Blaine, MN is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team!

Position:

Veterinary Technician (CVT preferred, but not required.)

Work Schedule:

Part Time; Weekends (Sat/Sun, every other weekend)

Pay Range APCA I/VTIII:

$22.15 - $41.75/hour

*This pay band depends on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

• Weekday Night (Mon-Thu 6p to 8a): $3.50
• Weekend Day (Sat-Sun 8a to 6p): $3.50
• Weekend Night (Fri-Sun 6p to 8a): $5.00

Responsibilities as an Emergency Veterinary Technician:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases upon arrival, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math, including infusion rates, and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train other team members.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
