Job summary

Eye Care for Animals Culver City, part of Thrive Pet Healthcare, seeks a Veterinary Technician Practice Leader to blend advanced clinical skills with hospital leadership. Lead a dedicated team, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality patient care within a growing ophthalmology-focused practice.

You will guide daily operations, participate in staffing, and collaborate with regional leadership to advance hospital goals, while maintaining exceptional patient experiences and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on veterinary technician experience providing direct patient care.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience within a veterinary hospital.
  • Advanced veterinary technical and anesthesia monitoring skills.
  • Strong understanding of patient care standards and medical protocols.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Preferred: Specialty or ophthalmology experience.
  • Preferred: Credentialed Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT), though experienced candidates without credentials are encouraged to apply.

About the Role

As our Veterinary Technician Practice Leader, you will serve as both a skilled clinical technician and an operational leader. You will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting a high-performing hospital team and ensuring the overall success of the practice.

Leadership Responsibilities

Veterinary Technician Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional nursing care and patient advocacy
  • Assist veterinarians with specialty ophthalmology procedures and treatments
  • Monitor and manage anesthesia cases with confidence and accuracy
  • Obtain and interpret patient vital signs during procedures, including:
    • Blood Pressure
    • ECG
    • SpO2
    • ETCO2
  • Recognize changes in patient status and communicate concerns proactively
  • Perform diagnostic and treatment procedures with a high level of technical proficiency
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation
  • Ensure a safe, compassionate, and low-stress experience for patients and clients

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $31.00 - $43.00 per hour

Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors including experience, credentials, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
