is hiring an exceptional Veterinary Technician in Ophthalmology.

As an Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician, you will help diagnose and treat ophthalmic diseases in companion animals.

Pay: $20.00 - $40.50 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through our leveling system.

Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends.

*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.00 Shift Differential

As an Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Perform basic ophthalmic diagnostic tests (tear quantity, glaucoma testing, ulcer testing) and help hold patients for detailed ocular exams.
• Perform advanced ophthalmic diagnostic testing (retinal electrical function, etc.).
• Set up and assist with procedures and surgeries that restore comfort and vision, ranging from outpatient procedures to basic and complex surgeries.
• Assist with outpatient procedures like diamond burr debridement and CO2 laser removal of eyelid margin masses.
• Participate in surgical procedures including eyelid surgeries, cherry eye surgery, corneal grafts, cataract surgery, retinal surgery, and glaucoma surgery.
• For patients undergoing sedation or anesthesia, place IV catheters and fluids, administer drugs, and monitor sedation/anesthesia with advanced skills.
• Receive anesthesia training with help from our anesthesia specialist.
• Help organize and maintain specialized ophthalmic equipment and supplies.
• Educate clients on their pet's ocular disease and care.
