BluePearl Pet Hospital in Lafayette, CO is seeking an exceptional Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician to diagnose and treat ophthalmic diseases in companion animals, support anesthesia, and assist with advanced ocular procedures.

The role includes outpatient and surgical duties, staff education, and patient care with opportunities for advancement through Kahuna leveling and shift differentials for eligible hours.

• Perform basic ophthalmic diagnostic tests (Schirmer Tear Testing, IOPs, Fluorescein Staining) and help hold patients for ocular exams.
• Perform advanced ophthalmic diagnostic testing (retinal electrical function, etc.).
• Set-up and assist with procedures and surgeries ranging from outpatient to complex surgeries.

Responsabilidades

• Outpatient procedures: diamond burr debridement, CO2 laser removal of eyelid margin masses.
• Surgical procedures including eyelid surgeries, cherry eye, corneal grafts, cataract, retinal, glaucoma surgeries.
• Place IV catheters and fluids during sedation or anesthesia; monitor sedation/anesthesia.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Lafayette, CO is hiring an exceptional Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician!

Veterinary Technician I (CVT) Pay: $23.35 / hour - $33.60 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

For example:

Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential

Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential

Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential

As an Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician, you will help diagnose and treat ophthalmic diseases in companion animals.

As an Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Perform basic ophthalmic diagnostic tests (Schirmer Tear Testing, IOP’s, Fluorescein Staining) and help hold patients for detailed ocular exam
• Perform advanced ophthalmic diagnostic testing (retinal electrical function, etc.)
• Set-up and assist with procedures and surgeries that restore comfort and vision ranging from outpatient procedures to basic and complex surgeries
• Outpatient procedures: diamond burr debridement (to stimulate corneal healing), CO2 laser (to remove eyelid margin masses)
• Surgical procedures including eyelid surgeries, cherry eye surgery, corneal grafts, cataract surgery, retinal surgery, glaucoma surgery
• For patients undergoing sedation or anesthesia, place IV catheters and fluids, administer drugs through various route, perform and monitor sedation/anesthesia (with advances skills including constant rate infusions, paralytics, ventilation, etc.)
• Anesthesia training is available with help or our anesthesia specialist
• Help organize and maintain specialized ophthalmic equipment and supplies
• Be the frontline in educating clients on their pet’s ocular disease and care
