Job summary

CityVet Waxahachie seeks an experienced Veterinary Technician (VT) to join our clinic. The VT helps doctors by preparing patients for procedures, supporting anesthesia, taking X-rays and gathering lab samples, and ensuring accurate medication administration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age at time of hire.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to safely restrain animals.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians by preparing patients for procedures and surgeries.
• Monitor patients post-operatively and assist during exams.
• Obtain samples (stool, blood) for testing and help interpret results.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the DVM.
• Communicate with clients about care plans and home instructions.
• Support front office and team members as needed.
