Position Details

Role: Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)

Status: Full-time

Salary: $28.00–$33.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and credentials

Schedule: Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM; no weekends

Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced, compassionate, and team-oriented Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our small animal general practice team. What You’ll Do
  • Perform patient assessments and obtain thorough medical histories
  • Utilize Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques for patient care
  • Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare reference laboratory samples
  • Obtain diagnostic radiographs
  • Assist with surgical and dental procedures
  • Induce, monitor, and recover anesthetic patients
  • Perform dental cleanings and dental radiographs
  • Administer medications, vaccines, fluids, and treatments as directed
  • Educate clients on medications, preventive care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
  • Support daily hospital flow, appointments, and patient care needs
  • Help train and support veterinary assistants and newer team members
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment, surgery, dental, and exam areas
  • Communicate effectively with doctors, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives

  • Strong technical skills in anesthesia, dentistry, venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, laboratory diagnostics, and patient care
  • Experience in small animal general practice
