Job summary

Nassau Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our five-doctor, AAHA-accredited team in Nassau, NY. You’ll work closely with veterinarians across appointments, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics and patient care.

We offer a full-time schedule with every-other-Saturday availability and a $3,000 sign-on bonus. Our practice blends modern medicine with a collaborative, hands-on environment for ongoing skill development.

Qualifications

• Current New York State Veterinary Technician license.
• Previous clinical veterinary experience required.
• Proficiency in venipuncture, catheter placement, patient treatments, and anesthesia monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Performing venipuncture and placing IV catheters.
• Collecting and processing blood, urine, and other laboratory samples.
• Preparing patients for surgical and dental procedures.
• Monitoring patients throughout anesthesia and recovery.
• Administering medications, vaccines, fluids, and prescribed treatments.
• Providing nursing care and monitoring hospitalized patients.
• Assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures.
• Reviewing discharge instructions and treatment plans with pet owners.
• Maintaining accurate medical records and supporting an efficient treatment area.

What You'll Be Doing

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking an LVT who is confident in their technical abilities while also valuing communication, teamwork, and compassionate care.

Qualifications include:

• Current New York State Veterinary Technician license
• Previous clinical veterinary experience
• Proficiency with core technician skills, including venipuncture, catheter placement, patient treatments, and anesthesia monitoring
• Strong patient handling and nursing skills
• Dependable and collaborative approach to teamwork
• Professional communication with clients and coworkers
• Interest in continuing to develop clinical knowledge and technical skills

Schedule

This is a full-time opportunity with a consistent weekly schedule. Every-other-Saturday availability is required.
