Job summary

Nassau Veterinary Clinic in Nassau, NY, is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our five-doctor AAHA-accredited hospital. This full-time role includes every-other-Saturday and a $3,000 sign-on bonus, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities to work closely with veterinarians in surgery, dentistry, diagnostics and hospitalized patient care.

Qualifications

• Current New York State Veterinary Technician license.
• Previous clinical veterinary experience.
• Proficiency with core technician skills, including venipuncture, catheter placement, patient treatments, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Strong patient handling and nursing skills.
• Dependable and collaborative approach to teamwork.
• Professional communication with clients and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters.
• Collect and process blood, urine, and other lab samples.
• Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures.
• Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery.
• Administer medications, vaccines, fluids, and prescribed treatments.
• Provide nursing care and monitor hospitalized patients.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures.
• Review discharge instructions and treatment plans with pet owners.
• Maintain accurate medical records and support an efficient treatment area.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you'll work closely with our veterinarians throughout appointments, procedures, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and hospitalized patient care. Responsibilities may include:

Schedule

This is a full-time opportunity with a consistent weekly schedule. Every-other-Saturday availability is required.
