Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Wyomissing, PA is hiring an Experienced Veterinary Technician to support the Internal Medicine department. Compensation ranges from $20.00 to $40.50 per hour with a schedule of Monday–Thursday 8:00AM–6:00PM.

• Act as liaison between our internists and clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors.
• Perform anesthesia and sedation for CT scans, Endoscopy, and Ultrasound-guided procedures.
• Perform digital radiography, utilizing sedation and other restraint/positioning techniques.
• Calculate medical math and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Phlebotomy and IV catheter placement.
• Assist with endoscopic procedures and maintain equipment.

is hiring an Experienced Veterinary Technician to work in Internal Medicine department at our Wyomissing, PA location.

Pay: $20.00 - $40.50 / hour

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8:00AM-6:00PM

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system.

As An Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, You Will

• Act as liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors.
• Perform anesthesia and sedation for CT scans, Endoscopy, and Ultrasound-guided procedures.
• Perform digital radiography, utilizing sedation and other restraint/positioning techniques.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
• Discharge Internal Medicine patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Set up and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures which may include:
• Joint Taps
• Body cavity centesis (thoracocentesis, pericardiocentesis, abdominocentesis)
• Bone marrow biopsy and aspirates
• Needle aspirates
• Laparoscopic or ultrasound-guided biopsies
• Learn to place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
