Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced Internal Medicine department. You will liaise between internists and clients, review histories, lab results, and care instructions, and assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, radiographs, and sample collection.

Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills are required. You will discharge IM patients with client education and manage medical calculations for CRIs and other treatments, while

• Qualified veterinary technician with internal medicine experience.
• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
• Experience with ultrasound and endoscopic procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between internists and clients for histories, care instructions, lab results, and patient updates.
• Assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, radiographs, and lab sample collection.
• Discharge IM patients with client education (insulin injections, fluids, feeding).
• Perform routine medical math and prepare CRIs as needed.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department.

Schedule

Monday- Thursday

As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.

As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will...

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additional job duties as assigned.
