Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department in a fast-paced setting. You will act as a liaison between internists and clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, and updates, and assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures.

The role includes taking x-rays, filling prescriptions, obtaining lab samples, and strong anesthesia skills.

Qualifications

• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills are required.
• Act as liaison between internists and clients regarding histories, care instructions, and lab results.
• Involve client contact via phone, email, and in person discussions.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculate medical math (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Prepare ultrasound and radiology procedures.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department.

Schedule

Monday- Thursday

As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.

As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will...

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additional job duties as assigned.
