Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tampa, FL is seeking a knowledgeable Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced Internal Medicine department. This role supports internists, communicates with clients, and participates in procedures from anesthesia to imaging.

You will perform CRIs, phlebotomy, anesthesia induction/monitoring, ultrasound, endoscopy assistance, radiology prep, and discharge education. Competitive hourly pay and growth opportunities through our competency leveling system.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department.
Pay: $20 - $35 / hour
This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.
As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.

As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will...
