Job summary

CityVet Preston Forest is seeking a Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians by preparing patients for procedures, assisting with anesthesia, taking x‑rays, and collecting lab samples. The role emphasizes patient care, efficient clinic operations, and clear client communication.

You will obtain samples, perform basic tests, administer medications or vaccines as directed by the DVM, and collaborate with the Client Service Specialist and Animal Care teams to ensure smooth daily practice.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and minimum age 18.
• Excellent communication and client-service orientation.
• Ability to work Sundays during urgent care hours (9:45am–6pm).
• Experience in veterinary setting preferred (minimum 1 year).

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians by prepping patients for surgery, anesthesia administration, x‑rays, and sample collection.
• Obtain lab samples such as stool and blood for testing; perform basic testing.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian.
• Communicate with clients to provide care instructions and follow-up.
• Support Client Service Specialist and Animal Care Assistant teams as needed.
