Job summary

CityVet Preston Forest seeks a Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians in patient care and daily operations. Responsibilities include prepping patients, collecting samples, and assisting with procedures.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of veterinary experience and the ability to restrain animals safely. We offer a team-centered environment with opportunities for growth, benefits, and a schedule that includes Sundays during urgent care hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 18 years old at hire.
• Minimum 1 year veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to restrain animals safely and effectively.
• Capable of lifting to waist height (up to 50 lbs).
• Excellent communication and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians by preparing patients for procedures, including anesthesia, radiographs, and lab work; monitor post-op patients and restrain animals during exams.
• Collect samples (stool, blood, etc.) for testing and aid in lab work.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and anesthesia as directed by the DVM.
• Communicate with clients regarding medical information and aftercare instructions.
• Support front office and animal care teams as needed.
