Job summary

CityVet Preston Forest is hiring a Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians by preparing patients for procedures, taking X-rays, gathering lab samples, and administering medications. The VT helps maintain high-quality patient care and efficient practice operations, while communicating care plans to clients under the veterinarian's guidance.

A minimum of 1 year veterinary experience is required; there's emphasis on safety, animal restraint, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 18 years old at hire date.
• Minimum 1 year veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to restrain animals safely.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications.
• Lift 50 lbs and endure standing/walking.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians with surgery prep and post-op care.
• Take X-rays, collect lab samples, monitor patients.
• Administer medications, vaccines, anesthesia as directed.
• Communicate care plans to clients under the DVM’s guidance.
• Support front-office by coordinating patient flow and notes.
• Work on Sundays during urgent care hours (9:45am–6pm).
