CityVet Georgetown is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team in Georgetown, TX. The VT will support veterinarians, manage patient care, and facilitate client communications in a busy clinic setting.

A minimum of 1 year in the veterinary field is required, with responsibilities including anesthesia prep, post-op monitoring, sample collection, and medication administration. The role emphasizes teamwork and patient-focused care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to restrain animals safely.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and medication.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians - prep patients for surgery (administer anesthesia/take x-rays/gather lab specimens), monitor patients post-op and restrain animals during exams.
• Obtain samples - gather stool, blood, and other samples for testing.
• Testing - test the samples gathered and help interpret the results.
• Administer medications - give patients prescribed medications, anesthesia, vaccines, or other medications as directed by the DVM.
• Client communication - obtain medical information from clients and provide proper care instructions.
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team when needed.
