Job Summary

Assist veterinary staff in the documentation and triage of all laboratory animal health cases. May also perform technical in-life procedures.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1. Assist veterinary staff in the documentation and triage of all animal health cases noted by technical staff and/or Attending Veterinarian.
2. Perform routine veterinary technical and husbandry skills including administration of therapeutic measures, bandaging, nail/hoof/teeth trimming, venipuncture, vaginal swabs, animal restraint, monitoring critical care animals, follow-up observations, maintaining medical records, assisting in surgeries, and other duties as assigned.
3. Maintain inventory and organize veterinary rooms.
4. Provide leadership and training to other personnel as needed.
5. Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of experience working with laboratory animals; experience in a CRO preferred.
• License or certification as a Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT, RVT) preferred; AALAS certification desired.
• Strong organizational, communication, and recordkeeping skills.
• Proficiency in veterinary technical procedures and husbandry.

Compensation

The pay range is $26.00 to $28.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
