Job summary

Animal Medical Clinic, Peachtree City, GA, is recruiting a Veterinary Technician to join Thrive Pet Healthcare. This full‑time role offers 38–40 hours weekly with Saturday and Sunday rotations and shift times Mon–Fri 7a–6p, Sat 8a–5p, Sun 7a–9a or 4p–6p.

You will support veterinarians, assist during procedures, manage medical charts, obtain samples, and educate clients while contributing to a warm local culture with Thrive’s national resources.

Qualifications

• Passion for animal care and a strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Assist veterinarians during appointments, surgeries, and procedures.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
• Obtain health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
• Obtain vital signs and diagnostic samples.
• Perform venipuncture; IV catheter placement and care.
• Perform dental prophylaxis and maintain patient care pre- and post-operatively.
• Monitor patients for significant changes and notify the veterinarian.
