Job summary

Animal Medical Clinic in Peachtree City, GA, seeks a Veterinary Technician to join Thrive Pet Healthcare. You will support veterinarians, manage patient flow, assist in surgeries and procedures, and educate clients on pet health and Thrive Membership options.

Open Monday–Friday 7a–6p; Saturdays 8a–5p; Sundays 7a–9a or 4p–6p. We value teamwork, compassionate care, and professional development through Thrive's learning programs and nationwide resources.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of clinical experience
  • AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality care and client education
  • Assist with appointments, surgeries, and procedures
  • Maintain medical charts and obtain health histories
  • Obtain vital signs and diagnostic samples
  • Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Provide dental prophylaxis and pre/post-operative patient care
  • Maintain clean, sterile treatment areas and equipment
  • Mentor and support fellow team members

Schedule: 38-40 hours weekly; Saturday and Sunday rotations

Shift Times: Monday - Friday 7a-6p

Saturday 8a-5p

Sunday 7a - 9a or 4p-6p

About You

You’ll play an important role in pets' lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Your Experience & Skills
  • Passion for animal care and a strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • 1-2 years of clinical experience
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Animal Medical Clinic is a general practice located in Peachtree City, GA focusing on wellness/sick exams, preventative care, surgeries, and dentistry. Our hospital is a fast-paced and high-volume clinic with moderately affluent and well-educated clientele. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality of veterinary care to each patient and to serve our clients, patients, and team members with professionalism, compassion, and integrity. Teamwork and exceptional customer service are all equally important.

We are open Monday - Friday 7a-6p and Saturday 8a-5p, serving the Peachtree City, Fayetteville, Tyrone, and Newnan communities.

You're Willing And Able To
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients
  • Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow
  • Assist veterinarians during appointments, surgeries, and procedures
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts
  • Obtain vital signs and diagnostic samples
  • Perform venipuncture
  • IV catheter placement and care
  • Perform dental prophylaxis
  • Maintain proper patient care pre- and post- operatively
  • Monitor patients for any significant changes and notify the veterinarian immediately if any are observed
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, labs, and equipment
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at $17 - $19/ hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
