Qualifications

• Previous hands-on veterinary experience.
• Veterinary Technician licensure is welcomed but not required for all candidates.
• Strong patient handling and restraint skills.
• Experience assisting with veterinary examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Comfort triaging patients and obtaining thorough histories and vital signs.
• Experience supporting surgical and dental procedures.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Clear, compassionate client communication.
• Confidence educating clients about medications, discharge instructions, and preventive care.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories.
• Collect and document patient vital signs and assessments.
• Safely handle and restrain patients during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Assist veterinarians with appointments, treatments, and medical procedures.
• Support surgical procedures, including patient preparation, monitoring, recovery, and instrument care.
• Assist with dental procedures and patient monitoring.
• Educate clients about patient care, medications, discharge instructions, and preventive healthcare.
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
• Keep treatment and patient-care areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for the next patient.
