NewDay Veterinary Care's Amelia Island/Yulee, FL practice is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our experienced team. Qualifications
- Six months of prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician
- Lab, medical records, and SOAP knowledge
- Surgery experience
- Phlebotomy (cephalic, lateral saph)
- Experience with dental prophylaxis
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring and recovery
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, best-in-class care for patients while maximizing clinic productivity
- Assist veterinarians with examinations and handle animals before, during, and after procedures
- Perform diagnostic imaging such as x-rays and ultrasound
- Maintain and update medical charts and administer medications and treatments
- Diligently read and communicate basic diagnoses to pet parents
- Support qualified technicians with dental prophylaxis and anesthesia-related tasks
