Job summary

Vernon Woods Animal Hospital in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant/Technician to join our General Practice team. You will support patient care, assist veterinarians, and help deliver compassionate service to pets and families.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of veterinary hospital experience, is comfortable with wellness visits, dentistry, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, and laboratory procedures. AVMA accreditation preferred; LVT preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience working in a veterinary hospital environment.
• AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred.
• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred but not required.
• Experience with dentistry, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, laboratory diagnostics, or surgery support is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during wellness exams, sick visits, and medical procedures.
• Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and treatment information.
• Provide safe, low-stress patient handling and support surgical preparation.

Education

AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology programs

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred
