Job summary

Norwichtown Veterinary Hospital in Norwich, CT, is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Primary Care team. You will contribute to wellness, surgery, dentistry, and anesthesia, providing compassionate care to pets at every stage of their health journey.

Qualifications

• Prior Veterinary Technician experience required.
• Associates in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
• CVT license is a plus.
• Knowledge of the procedures used for scheduling patients, receiving, treating, ordering medical supplies, and requesting laboratory tests.
• Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services. This includes client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
• Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to pets at every stage of their health journey.
• Assist with anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring.
• Conduct dentistry and support surgeries as needed.
• Calculate drug dosages and follow protocols.
• Coordinate scheduling, reception, and laboratory testing processes.
