Job summary

Pieper Veterinary is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Primary Care team at Norwichtown Veterinary Hospital in Norwich, CT. The patient-focused role includes anesthesia monitoring, dentistry, and surgery support within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Prior Veterinary Technician experience required.
• Associates in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
• CVT license is a plus.
• Knowledge of scheduling patients, receiving, treating and ordering medical supplies; and requesting laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to pets in general practice including anesthesia monitoring.
• Assist in dentistry and surgery as part of the Primary Care team.

About You

We strongly believe that veterinary medicine is a team sport, and our preferred candidate is someone who feels the same. The ideal candidate for this role is comfortable with all aspects of general practice, including anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring, drug calculations and protocols, dentistry, and surgery. Experience with EzyVet is an additional plus but not required.

Compensation

$19.00 - $22.00/hour dependent upon experience and education

Schedule

This is a full-time position:

Monday - 8am-5pm
Tuesday - 8am-6:30pm
Wednesday - 8am-5:30pm
Thursday - 8am-6:30pm
Alternating Saturdays - 8am-12:30pm are required.

Requirements

• Prior Veterinary Technician experience required.
• Associates in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
• CVT license is a plus.
• Knowledge of the procedures used for scheduling patients, receiving, treating, ordering medical supplies, and requesting laboratory tests.
• Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services. This includes client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
• Must be 18 years or older to apply.
