Portland Vet Stroudwater is opening a new GP clinic and seeks a licensed or credentialed veterinary technician to deliver high-quality care. This full-time role offers a 4-day schedule (Mon-Thu, 7:30am–6pm) with no weekends or major holidays and a competitive hourly pay range.

Join a collaborative team equipped with CBC, chemistries, cytologies, digital radiography, and ultrasound in a newly built facility.

Qualifications

• Licensed/credentialed veterinary technician required.
• 1–2 years of small animal practice experience, including surgery.
• Proficient with practice management software and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong communication and compassionate teamwork with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with routine general practice procedures and exams.
• Assist with general practice surgeries such as spay/neuter and mass removals.
• Support patient intake, client communication, and education on treatments.
• Help manage patient flow and appointment coordination in a fast-paced setting.
• Collaborate with the GP team to shape workflows and best practices from the start.

Veterinary Technician - Portland Vet Stroudwater

Anticipated Schedule

This is a full-time position

• Flexible 4-day schedule to start, set schedule of Monday - Thursday (7:30am to 6pm) schedule as of September 2026
• No weekends or major holidays
• Potential for schedule change or start time change in future, or weekend day with growth

Compensation

• Pay range $24 to $32 per hour, commensurate with experience and licensure
• Sign-On bonus up to $5,000 commensurate with experience and licensure

What You ll Do

• Assist veterinarians with routine general practice procedures: exams, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, venipuncture, and catheter placement
• Assist veterinarians with routine general practice surgeries such as spay/neuter and mass removals
• Support with patient intake, client communication, and education on treatments
• Help manage patient flow and appointment coordination in a fast-paced setting
• Collaborate with the GP team to shape workflows, culture, and best practices from the start

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a skilled, collaborative veterinary technician who is excited to help build a fabulous team culture and play an active role in launching a brand-new general practice

• Licensed/Credentialed veterinary technician; very experienced veterinary assistants may also be considered
• Minimum 1 2 years of experience in small animal practice including surgery
• Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues
• Comfortable using practice management software and diagnostic equipment
• Demonstrates compassion, teamwork, initiative, and respect
