Job summary

Portland Vet Stroudwater is seeking a licensed veterinary technician to join a new general practice team. You will assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, and routine surgeries in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes client communication, patient care, and coordination of schedule as the clinic opens and grows. A 4‑day workweek and competitive compensation are offered to the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Licensed/credentialed veterinary technician; experienced assistants may be considered.
• 1–2 years of experience in small animal practice including surgery.
• Excellent communication with clients and colleagues.
• Comfortable using practice management software and diagnostic equipment.
• Demonstrates compassion, teamwork, initiative and respect.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with routine general practice procedures: exams, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, venipuncture, and catheter placement.
• Assist with routine surgeries such as spay/neuter and mass removals.
• Support patient intake, client communication and education on treatments.
• Help manage patient flow and appointment coordination in a fast-paced setting.
• Collaborate with the GP team to shape workflows and best practices.

Veterinary Technician – General Practice

Join Portland Vet Stroudwater and build something new from day one! As our new GP clinic opens its doors, we’re seeking a licensed or credentialed veterinary technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) to help deliver exceptional patient and client care in a collaborative and expanding environment.

Anticipated Schedule
This is a full‑time position.

• Flexible 4‑day schedule to start, set schedule of Monday - Thursday (7:30am to 6pm) schedule as of September 2026
• Potential for schedule change or start time change in future, or weekend day with growth

Compensation

• Starting at $27/hour, commensurate with experience and licensure

• Demonstrates compassion, teamwork, initiative, and respect
