Job summary

St Georges Veterinary Hospital in Avenel, NJ is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to support our goal of healthier lives for our patients and families. As an experienced technician, you will work closely with our veterinarians on diagnosis and treatment plans, room patients, assist in surgery, and handle animals with care.

Responsibilities include IV catheter placement, blood draws, bloodwork, client education, and proper animal restraint.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of veterinary experience.
• Experience with rooming patients, assisting in surgery, and animal handling.
• Knowledge of vaccines and administering them.
• Experience with IV catheters, blood draws, and bloodwork.
• Ability to obtain patient history and maintain medical records.
• Pharmacology calculations and surgical experience (prep, monitor, recovery).
• Venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Positive team player willing to continue to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Room patients and assist in surgery.
• Handle and restrain animals appropriately.
• Take and document patient history and maintain medical records.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and bloodwork.
• Position patients for X-ray and assist with imaging.
• Educate clients about care and medications.
