Job summary

Prestige Animal Clinic in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate team. The role includes assisting veterinarians, handling vaccinations, performing routine lab work, taking radiographs, and restraining patients with care.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience.
  • Strong passion for patient care, client service and team development.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal; able to read, speak and write English; intermediate computer literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Review vaccination records and prepare vaccines per protocol.
  • Assist veterinarians in procedures with proper restraint and handling of patients.
  • Maintain and use equipment such as IDEXX Procyte/CatalystOne and autoclave; perform routine lab procedures.
  • Take radiographs with correct positioning and technique; monitor vital signs.
  • Maintain pharmacy records, anesthesia logs, and other documentation; assist with record-keeping.
  • Coordinate treatments and injections per doctor instructions; assist cross‑training with Client Services.
  • Perform cleaning duties between clients and as needed; support team members.

Technician Job Responsibilities and Skills
  • Review vaccination records and prepare vaccines according to our vaccine protocol
  • Support veterinarians in procedures using accurate restraint; know how to restrain fractious patients
  • Maintain and use equipment such as IDEXX Procyte/CatalystOne and autoclave
  • Perform routine laboratory procedures and analyses in hematology, microbiology, urinalysis, and serology
  • Prepare samples for outside laboratory analysis
  • Coordinate treatments and injections following the instructions of a doctor or a treatment form
  • Maintain pharmacy records, and controlled drug, anesthesia logs
  • Take radiographs, with knowledge of accurate positioning and techniques
  • Take vital signs including temperature, pulse, and respiration
  • Perform and analyze skin and ear cytology’s
  • Complete anal gland expression, ear cleanings, and nail trims
  • Assist in maintaining and preparing records, consent forms, other documents
  • Support our other team members as needed, including cross‑training with our Client Services Representative
  • Perform necessary cleaning duties in between clients and as needed
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician is required
  • Demonstrates passion for patient care, client service and team development
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player to work independently to meet goals and objectives
  • Strong commitment to ethics and integrity
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and continuous learning
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
  • Must efficiently be able to read, speak, and write English
  • Must have intermediate computer literacy skills
  • Be able to handle multiple unrelated tasks, simultaneously
