Countryside Veterinary Hospital in Chelmsford, MA is hiring a Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join a nine-doctor small animal practice. The role offers a busy, hands-on nursing environment with opportunities to grow skills in anesthesia, exotic medicine, and laser therapy.

Qualifications

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician preferred; licensure welcomed; experienced assistants encouraged to apply.
• Solid technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory procedures.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment and strong communication with clients and team.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and obtain thorough histories, vitals, and patient assessments.
• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care from intake through discharge.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection.
• Monitor patients and provide supportive care including TPRs, pain scoring, and wound care.
• Educate clients on patient care, medications, discharge instructions, and preventive care.
