Town and Country Veterinary Associates in Vernon, CT seeks a Veterinary Technician to assist veterinarians, monitor hospitalized pets, conduct in-house lab work, prepare prescriptions, and support surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in veterinary medicine and surgery as needed.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights during outpatient exams and educate clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedure.
• Obtain samples and perform in-hospital lab work; prepare specimens for outside labs.
• Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams as required.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Clean and restock exam rooms and labs; maintain equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate warmth and professionalism with clients and patients.
• Communicate with veterinarians and staff including client discussions and plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
