Job summary

CityVet Highlands Ranch is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our vet-led team. You will help the veterinarian with patient care, prep for surgery, and ensure smooth daily operations in a busy clinic.

The role requires at least 1 year of veterinary experience, the ability to restrain animals safely, and solid communication with clients and staff. Weekend availability is part of the schedule, with shifts Friday–Sunday and Monday hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to properly restrain animals.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.
• Weekend availability: Fri, Sat, Sun 10:00–20:00 and Mon 8:00–6:15.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians by prepping patients for surgery, administering anesthesia, taking x-rays, and gathering lab specimens; monitor patients post-op and restrain animals during exams.
• Obtain samples (stool, blood, etc.) for testing.
• Test samples and help interpret results.
• Administer prescribed medications, vaccines, or anesthesia as directed by the DVM.
• Communicate with clients to provide care instructions and information about the veterinary plan.
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team as needed.
