Fresh Pond Animal Hospital in Belmont, MA is hiring a Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant. This full-time, on-site role offers a competitive hourly wage and a stable schedule. You’ll work closely with a four-doctor team to deliver high-quality patient care and client education in a fast-paced, supportive atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician (vet tech) or veterinary assistant in a small animal practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Obtain patient histories and maintain medical records.
• Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and equipment for appointments.
• Safely restrain patients during exams and procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and anesthesia as directed.
• Monitor anesthesia, vital signs, and patient recovery.
• Collect lab samples and perform in-house diagnostic testing.
• Provide attentive nursing care to recovering patients.
• Educate clients on medications, treatments, and preventive care.
• Keep the treatment area clean, organized, and efficient.
• Support daily hospital operations and patient workflow.

Status: Full-time

Salary: $18.00-22.00 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: 4 days per week with alternating Saturdays

What You’ll Do

As a Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant at Fresh Pond Animal Hospital, you will:

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Obtain patient histories and keep accurate, thorough medical records
• Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and equipment so appointments run smoothly
• Safely and compassionately restrain patients during exams and procedures
• Administer medications, vaccines, and anesthesia as directed by the veterinarian

Responsibilities may vary based on hospital needs as well as your experience, training, certifications, credentials, and assigned responsibilities.
